Project so far....

My project is on how the relationships between people have changed since the advent of social networking sites (Twitter, Myspace, and Facebook), and how it alters our communication. Some people say that these sites are great because they allow us to connect with others who we don't see or don't even know, which is true, but even though we can connect with others, it has changed how we communicate with them...instead of picking up the phone and calling, or meeting up with our friends, we comment on their statuses and pictures. It has caused our relationships with others to be very "hands off". I think it is great that these sites can be used to connect with someone we would otherwise have no knowledge of or to connect with those who have moved away. I do however, find it disturbing that some people have made these websites a replacement for social interaction.
